UFO!!

Postby stealth » 30 Jun 2010, 13:26

This isn't WoW based, but this thread seems to attract other game stuff, so meh.

Steam currently has the entire UFO set for about £2.25
Thats:
the original UFO:Enemy Unknown (re-released under a different name)
UFO: Terror From the Deep (sea-based death on a stick)
X-COM Apocalypse
X-COM Interceptor
Umm...and another one.

Dunno how many people use Steam, or have copies of the original games, but these appear to have been re-geared to work on a modern system. Experience once more the joys of getting totally out classed in under 3 missions!
Truth! Freedom! Justice! Reasonably priced miniatures! And a Hard-boiled egg!

What more do you need in life?

Interesting.

Browsing steam also made me find this.
Which is disappointing when held against Flying-Snakey-Speeding-Horsey-Leapy-Stabby-Wahey!

By the time of TFTD it had already established itself as X-COM. Aw, happy days back in an idylic childhood back when games had absolutely no compulsion against taking the gamer roughly from behind with no warning whilst simultaneously hammering them in the crotch with a breeze block that's been clumsily broken in half leaving razor-sharp lacerating edges.

What I'm trying to say is that it was really hard.

New X-Com game in the works, see the trailer.

Well, um, one for the 'wait and see' pile I think. It's an FPS, set in the 50's and so breaks both the established X-Com gameplay and timeline in one fell swoop.

It dosen't look like a bad game, but it looks about as X-Com as a strawberry Blancmange.
